Ford’s Colony Williamsburg wedding, VOW Bride magazine shoot, Williamsburg, VA, Williamsburg wedding photographer, Williamsburg photographer, Bridal Dish, Bridal Dish Williamsburg, VOW Bride, Fords Colony
Even though I live in Newport News, I consider myself a Williamsburg wedding photographer because I photograph over half of my weddings there and live just minutes over the border. So I was especially excited when I was asked by the Bridal Dish in Williamsburg to do a magazine shoot for Vow Bride at the beautiful Ford’s Colony Country Club.
As magazine shoots typically go, we had a few unexpected delays and our late afternoon Ford’s Colony wedding shoot turned into a night shoot – but it made for some GREAT photos. Late afternoon light is always beautiful but I enjoy night portraits as well, and Ford’s Colony Williamsburg wedding have the advantage of an easily accessible, well-lit gazebo that works perfectly for night portraits. Since I do a lot of night wedding portraits, the unplanned gazebo shot at the end is one of my favorites (mostly natural light but I added a little extra backlighting to help the couple really glow ;). HUGE thanks to Kelly at Inspired Events who organized and designed practically everything and created numerous beautiful settings for me to work with – one of the best planners and event designers in the business!
