Chelsea and Matt were married on June 9^th, with a ceremony and reception at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Chelsea of course looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress, as did all of the bridesmaids in their peach Belini dresses, but the real star of the show (if she had her way) was Chelsea’s daughter, Gracie. She was absolutely adorable and loved the camera—and she kept trying to steal the show! I had to pull out a few tricks to redirect her so that I could get some pictures of the bride and groom together without her in the pictures, but it was obvious Chelsea and Matt loved having her there and involved. Gracie even walked her mom down the aisle!

I did, of course, get those sweet shots of Chelsea and Matt all the same, even if I had to do a little finagling. At one point, I had to break one of my golden rules and stepped behind the altar after the sand ceremony. The officiant hadn’t moved them back in front of the arch, but I was able to sneak back there to capture a sweet kiss picture. Whatever it takes to get that photo!

Since I didn’t have a second photographer to help me out at this wedding, I found myself pulling out some of my family portrait skills to get the amazing images that these two deserved. There were plenty of kids at this wedding—not just Gracie—so I was in full performance mode to get smiles . . . at least for most of the portraits! But all that hard work was totally worth it!

Matt & Chelsea, thank you for asking me to be part of such an amazing, fun wedding! I hope that you both had an amazing time in the Dominican Republic!
