This camp is best for children who already know how to take pictures but want to take BETTER ones. This camp is NOT teaching how to use a camera so please be sure to send your child with a camera they know how to use. (any digital camera will work) Students will need to provide their own digital cameras (not cell phones) and will get personal one-on-one feedback and tips to improve and enhance their own photography while also learning about: composition, photography terms such as shutter speed and depth of field, and possible careers in photography.Kid’s Photography Camp in Newport News
Each day, students will learn a different type of composition that can make for better photos which they will then practice by taking photos of each other behind the studio or indoors. There will be 2-3 adults present at all times and one studio day when students will get to see behind the scenes in a photography studio. On the last day, each student’s favorite photo will be selected & displayed in a slideshow which will be shared on social media and professional prints will be ordered and available to pick up 2 weeks later. PLEASE NOTE: Photos will be taken of students and shared on Facebook and Instagram so if you prefer your child(ren) images are not shared, please ask about a private class. By the end of the week, each student will be a better photographer and have a better understanding of: Composition, Photography Terms, and have learned about a variety of possible careers in photography.
