I absolutely adored working with Clay and Erika and was so happy to finally get to celebrate their Colonial Williamsburg wedding at the Williamsburg Inn in Colonial Williamsburg on a beautiful July day.
They had planned their wedding for 2020 but due to the pandemic, they had to reschedule for 2021 – but it all worked out perfectly. Erika absolutely LOVES horses so having a horse-drawn carriage ride after the ceremony was a dream come true! (and I was pretty excited about it too 😉
Their story is the classic girl meets boy – they met in their freshman year of college and shared a class together and would sometimes get together with friends for dinner. One week it was just the two of them at dinner. By the second semester they started eating dinner together every week and quickly became best friends. It was a match clearly meant to be.
Erika grew up in Williamsburg and has always loved Colonial Williamsburg so she really wanted to share it with Clay. On their first date, they walked around Colonial Williamsburg, taking in the historical significance, beauty and Southern charm of yesteryear. He quickly agreed it was the perfect setting for their Colonial Williamsburg wedding and engagement photos. And the rest is history.
