Founders Inn and Spa Wedding
One of the most gorgeous garden venues in Virginia Beach is the Founders Inn and Spa. So when Jamie and Justin had to reschedule their May wedding due to COVID I was overjoyed that they were able to work with the staff and keep it at the Founders Inn. They have SO many picture-perfect spots inside and out and I couldn’t wait to return to this beautiful venue, even in the middle of August!
Founders Inn Wedding
I had the pleasure to work with Justin and Jamie for their engagement session and Jamie’s great attitude (despite forgetting to bring her favorite dress) continued through the rescheduling, church restrictions, and even the downsizing of their 200+ event to a Mini wedding with under 50 people. Justin was extremely supportive every step of the way and if rain can bring good luck on the wedding day (which they had too!) – I’m convinced a pandemic has proven this marriage is invincible!!!
Virginia Beach Wedding
Jamie started her day at the Founders Inn and Spa with the ladies and I got to witness all the chaos and laughter that goes into getting ready for a typical wedding. Everyone kept their distance for the ceremony, and masks on except for the vows and communion, so they were ready to have fun by the time we reached the gardens at the Founders Inn and you can really see their joy shine through in the group portraits.
Of course, anyone that has been to Virginia Beach in August knows how hot & humid it gets and THIS August day was in the high 90’s. It sprinkled on us during the beginning of our portrait time which was fine – because we got to use the clear umbrellas that Jamie had gotten for everyone just in case! But once we finished with the groups we moved inside for an AC break where I got to use my favorite indoor spot for photos, and then we popped outside for just one more quick session with the bride and groom under the shelter of the walkways & umbrella-free. When we snuck out during the reception for a couple of night shots, the humid air quickly fogged up my camera lens which created a nice romantic glow for some of the portraits.
The reception was full of laughter and despite the smaller group, and maybe because of it, the dance floor stayed packed all night. Justin & Jamie ended their Virginia Beach wedding with a dance – alone – in the ballroom while the rest of us lined up outside for the sparkler exit. I was allowed to capture a couple of photos of it and I have to say, it was the perfect romantic ending to their story.
HUGE thank you to all the amazing vendors for helping their day run smoothly & be such a success! I look forward to working with all of you again soon!
